I have set off on this project in Mexico with minimal Spanish. This wasn’t intentional but it lends itself to my purpose of experiencing what it must be like to be an immigrant in a country whose language, environment, food and customs are unfamiliar. I’ve been drawing different seeds and plants that I find in the [...] Haruko and I went out to San Augustine Etla to see Adan and Lorena yesterday and we are going to house sit for them for 10 days starting on Tuesday…when they get back we will search for another place to stay. In the meantime Lorena is asking around a little more and I am sure [...] Joyce writes from Mexico about their arrival in Mexico City and trip to Oaxaca where they toured gardens and galleries, found themselves in the midst of a teachers’ strike and planned their first connections with the Mexican artists.

Joyce Majiski has published a new e-book called "Canto: a collection of wishes". The e-book, available online for free, contains images of Joyce's work and the wishes or prayers left by the public in her copper Canto prayer wheels at the Voz/Voice exhibition. Check it out on our e-book page.
