Biography
Joyce has made her home in the Yukon since 84, where she initially worked as a biologist and wilderness guide.
The environment, sense of place and interconnections in the natural world feature highly in her work.
Joyce has exhibited her work and participated in residencies both nationally and internationally. She continues to work collaboratively with Alice Angus in the UK. In 2003 she initiated the Artist in the Parks program in Ivvavik National Park with Parks Canada and was selected to participate in the 3 Rivers Journey. Joyce was invited to participate in an artists exchange in Yamal Russia in 2008. She has organized several workshops at her Tuktu Studio inviting International artists to teach print and papermaking courses. She was awarded two public commissions for the City of Whitehorse which were installed in 2005 and 2008.
