Cesar CESAR DAMIAN
Photographer
Cesar lives in Hidalgo, Mexico. He is a photographer with a strong history of solo exhibitions. In his Migration series, Cesar successfully captures the hard-hitting issue of migration in a style that merges journalism with artistic exploration/expression. He has a proven ability to work with people from all walks of life such as the indigenous, poor and migrants who are trying to find asylum outside of their countries. Patricia lives in Woodstock, Ontario and is a visual artist, independent curator and writer. Her lens-based work includes photography, sound and video installations that investigate complex and fragmented relationships between history, culture and landscape. Deadman participated in several artist residencies including Banff, Paris, Merida and Oaxaca.  Her works have been exhibited throughout Canada and the United States and are included in numerous public collections.  Deadman represented Canada as a member of the Canada Council Aboriginal Curators Delegation at the Venice Biennale, 2009. Maria Luisa de Villa is a Mexican citizen who lives in Oaxaca and also spends time in Sudbury and Toronto.  She began making art in the 70’s, interrupting her vocation at intervals to raise her 4 children. In 1986, she received a BFA Honors Degree from York University and in 2000, a MFA Degree from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Maria Luisa has a long history of solo and group exhibitions with shows in Canada, US, Mexico and China.  She has received awards from the Canada Council for the Arts, Toronto Arts Council, York University and Ontario Arts Council. At present, Maria Luisa is a research member of the Centre for Research on Latin America and the Caribbean at York University. Explore more….

Cristina lives in San Augustin Etla in Oaxaca, Mexico. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Art in painting, sculpture and engraving from La Esmeralda art school. Cristina has had 16 individual shows the most recent of which was Primeros Indicios…ültimas Incidencias; in the Torre del Reloj Gallery in June 2008 in Mexico City.  She has also been involved in several group exhibitions in Mexico, the United States and Puerto Rico. Joyce has made her home in the Yukon, where she initially worked as a biologist and wilderness guide. The environment, sense of place and interconnections in the natural world feature highly in her work. Joyce has exhibited her work, participated in residencies and been involved in many collaborative projects both nationally and internationally.  In addition to co-founding the LLAMA project, Joyce initiated the Artist in the Parks program in Ivvavik National Park and has hosted several print and papermaking workshops featuring national and international artists at Tuktu Studio which she owns. Lorena lives in the mountains near Oaxaca City. She has exhibited extensively in Mexico as well as Europe and Canada. In 2006 she took part in a ceramic symposium in Bejing, China and in 2009 participated in the Cuban Biennial.
