Biography
Patricia resides in Woodstock, Ontario and is a visual artist, independent curator and writer. Her lens-based work includes photography, sound and video installations that investigate complex and fragmented relationships between history, culture and landscape. Her recent solo exhibition Ground Cover, 2007, a series of manipulated photographic installations was shown at Museum London (Ontario), Woodland Cultural Centre (Brantford) and a selection in the Kitchener Waterloo Art Gallery exhibition Some Kind of Wonderful: 4th KW/AG Biennial.
Deadman participated in several artist residencies including Banff, Alberta; Paris, France; Merida, Mexico and Oaxaca, Mexico. Her works have been exhibited throughout Canada and the United States and are included in numerous public collections. Deadman represented Canada as a member of the Canada Council Aboriginal Curators Delegation at the Venice Biennale, 2009.
